Sin Huat

We finally made it to the infamous Sin Huat on a Saturday evening, thanks to the cousin who was a regular. We got there just before 6pm and it was still pretty empty.
They allowed us to BYO. This was the start of what eventually would evolve into a 4+ hour long dinner.

First up : grilled flower crabs. Great smokey flavour.

The other side of the platter. One crab for everyone.

It wasn't very meaty but the meat was sweet.

Next up - gong gongs

Another look at them - just plain boiled
The gong gongs were massive - and their chilli sauce goes with it so well

What you pull out of the shell

Scallops in the shell with black bean sauce - these were pretty good too

They were a fairly decent size

Standard fried kai lan but it wasn't too bad at all

Prawns steamed with garlic and spring onions came next. The prawns were super fresh. I loved this dish.

When we were done, I started licking up the sauce

Which was fabulous on steamed rice

Next up - frogs legs with chicken essence, which they pour over at the table

A closer look - I didn't try any

Although the husband said it was really nice

Some fish that was steamed with the skin on

Butter crayfish - this was yums

Meat was solid and fresh

Finally, after all that, the famous crab bee hoon arrived

With lots of roe

A closer look at our plate - with leeks, fried onions and goodness knows what.

It was definitely one of the best crab bee hoon dishes I had ever eaten. The stock was incredibly flavourful, and it was top quality food. We had no idea what the damage was, and just remain incredibly grateful for the chance to eat there.
