It's been some time since we've ventured out to Ming Kee. We were there one Sunday night a few weeks back for a celebratory dinner of sorts, since the husband had just passed his exams.
The fish skin was excellent. It's stuff that you can crave out of nowhere, and I imagine it would be fantastic with a cold beer.
The tofu, broccoli and mushroom dish was all right. Nothing to get excited about.
My favourite dish - clams with garlic and soy.
The clams are super fresh, and the sauce is so good you can even drink it on its own.
Guinness pork ribs - great with steamed rice
Steamed patin fish with black bean sauce - this was okay. I'm not a big fish fan and could have done without this.
We had a crab bee hoon - this was fairly massive. And extremely delicious. It had a more subtle flavour than Sin Huat's version, and I think I like this one better.
Kung po pork - kinda weird, since the pork slices were sliced thinly. But ok with rice.
Veggies with salted and preserved eggs - ok with rice, but nothing to scream about.
We also had Udders Mao Shan Wang mooncakes for dessert afterwards - udderly fabulous.
