Osteria Mozza

We've made a decision not to deliberately patronise any of the restaurants at the integrated resorts because we simply do not want to support the casino business - any part of it. But since I was at Marina Bay Sands for a work event, I decided the bring the mother for dinner there since I knew she would enjoy it. I wasn't going to go to Waku Ghin, and we didn't feel like having Chinese food. So we went for Italian instead, with the mother choosing pasta over pizza.

Since we didn't have reservations, we were placed at the counter. Which was pretty nice as well.

I loved their floral arrangements.

The amuse bouche with ricotta cheese on a corn chip topped with basil

We ordered the buffalo mozzarella with parma ham ($25). This was pretty good.

We had a total of 3 pastas - the first to arrive, and the best, was the pasta with the duck ragu sauce ($26).  I really liked the texture of the pasta, and the duck ragu was rich and flavourful.

The one dish which we regretted ordering was at the recommendation of the waitress - a stampati (a flat circular pasta) with olives, eggplant and ricotta cheese ($25). I really should have known better. It was totally boring and the olive flavour was overwhelming.

I also liked the ricotta and egg raviolo with browned butter ($25) - this was pretty tasty and unique.

All in all, a decent meal and lovely atmosphere but I wouldn't head back there specially to eat - the food isn't as brilliant as say, Oso, and the parking is terribly expensive. But I wouldn't mind it if I was there already and there was nothing else I felt like eating.
