I had a 35g serve of foie gras ($7.90). It was pretty nicely done - with a nice crust but still soft inside. I wasn't too sure about the lentils, and I think a slightly sweeter accompanying sauce might have gone better with the foie gras.
We tried both their pastas - this was a pasta with shrimp and lumpfish caviar ($6.90), which was decent but not fabulous.
I suppose I was thinking of Iggy's when I saw the pasta with pork and sakura ebi, but it really didn't taste like the Iggy's version. But for $3.90, no one can really complain. It was decent but not spectacular.
The place was packed - there wasn't a moment that there wasn't someone waiting for a table. But the queue moved fast, due to them serving food super quickly.

We shared 2 mains, and were most impressed with the beef bourguignon for $13.90. I was expecting something a little wetter, but this version was extremely well done - it was soft, tender, and very flavourful. It was a great cut of meat.
It came with a serve of pretty decent mashed potato.
The pork belly ($10.90) was pretty well done as well - the skin was crispy, and the meat very moist.
food looks so dry. are you sure that's beef bourguignon?? beef bourguignon is a stew and not dry pieces of beef.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's what they call it. I was surprised too. But notwithstanding what it's called, a beef by any other name would taste as good :)
